One thing that has always amazed me is some people’s determination to avoid letting out their sense of humour when it comes to business. There is an old adage that says, “People do business with people they like”, and it’s as true today as the first time it was said! So why do we insist on putting on this stern facade when handling our business relationships? We’re not competing here – we’re on the same team! Just remember – if I’m going to work with you, we need a good relationship. To have a good relationship, we need trust. To have trust, you need to let me know who you really are. If you let me know who you really are, I hope you have a sense of humour. And if you don’t have a sense of humour, this relationship probably isn’t going to work!
We all want to enjoy what we do, and if we make it fun, then we can get on with the work. Not to mention, we’ll more than likely do a better job of it too!
