James has spent 20 years in the commercial lending market, with the latter 15 years specifically in invoice finance and asset based lending.

Prior to setting up Redwood Business Finance Ltd in March 2020, James’ last role was as a founder/shareholder of Amicus Commercial Finance which successfully sold to Investec Bank PLC in December 2017. James’ experience and depth of knowledge of the invoice finance and asset based lending industry, makes him stand out from most brokers and consultants.

James has helped raise finance for hundreds of businesses over the years, including new start-ups, high growth, turnarounds and business restructures, as well as straightforward refinancing. He works with businesses of all sizes – up to small PLCs, however specialises in helping owner managed businesses.
